It’s not just about me…. Yes, I started this blog to share my own healing journey—but the truth is, I write because there are millions of us out there dealing with chronic, invisible conditions who still feel unheard.
Whether it’s Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Fragrance Sensitivity, PTSD, Fibromyalgia, or anything else that disrupts your life but doesn’t show up on a lab test—you deserve to be understood, protected, and supported.
Why Awareness Matters
Some people can’t leave the house without getting sick from a scented product.
Others live with body pain that never goes away, but looks “fine” on the outside.
And many, like those of us with PTSD, walk around in survival mode while trying to function in a world that doesn’t see what we’re fighting.
Chronic conditions like MCS, fibromyalgia, and PTSD don’t always get the recognition they deserve—but they can drastically affect daily life. According to the CDC, 6 in 10 adults in the U.S. live with a chronic disease—and many of them are invisible.
Awareness creates space—space for accommodations, understanding, better treatment, and safer environments.
The Power of Advocacy
When we speak up, we:
- Help others realize they’re not alone
- Make room for better public policies (like fragrance-free spaces)
- Help friends, coworkers, and even family understand that this is real
- Teach medical professionals what they can’t learn from textbooks
- Empower the next generation to listen to their bodies sooner
Every time you share your story, ask for a safer alternative, or say, “This doesn’t work for me,” you’re advocating—not just for yourself, but for all of us.
Living with Invisible Illness Is Exhausting
You shouldn’t have to prove your symptoms to be taken seriously.
But that’s exactly what many people with MCS, fibromyalgia, or trauma-related illness deal with constantly. The burden of proof shouldn’t fall on the person who’s already just trying to get through the day.
Awareness shifts the responsibility to where it belongs—on communities, institutions, and public spaces to become more inclusive and safe for everyone.
If You’re Tired of Explaining… That’s Okay
You don’t have to be an activist to make a difference.
Sometimes advocacy is quiet. Sometimes it’s wearing a shirt that says “Fragrance Free = Safe For Me.”
Sometimes it’s simply not pretending anymore.
Let’s Keep Talking About It
This blog exists because silence didn’t help me heal—but connection did.
Let’s keep normalizing these conversations. Let’s create a world where people with chronic illness don’t have to choose between safety and belonging.
Chronic conditions like MCS, PTSD, and fibromyalgia don’t always get the recognition they deserve—but they can drastically affect quality of life. According to the CDC, 6 in 10 adults in the U.S. live with a chronic disease, and many of them are invisible.
Show Your Support
Raising awareness for conditions like MCS, Fibro, FCS, and PTSD starts with visibility. That’s why I created this line of MCS Awareness merch—to help us start more conversations and stand proud of what we’re living through.
Every purchase helps spark dialogue and lets others know they’re not alone.
